In order to enhance the contributions of effective community energies in the field of volunteering and instill a culture of volunteering in them, Al-Ahsa Municipality has provided volunteers with the possibility of sharing their ideas and volunteer initiatives so that the municipality can contribute to their implementation, provided that these initiatives are received through the official social media of the municipality or the electronic portal. The municipality explained that this comes within its efforts aimed at strengthening its role as a government sector in serving the community and developing human resources, based on the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which emphasizes empowering social responsibility and building a culture of volunteer work and encouraging it. The municipality emphasized that volunteering plays a pivotal role in all fields, especially in promoting social development and raising the quality of life for citizens and residents, in addition to volunteers acquiring new skills that develop their personal capabilities and help them communicate effectively with various members of society. It is noteworthy that the number of volunteers in Al-Ahsa Municipality during the current year 2023 reached (13,035 male and female volunteers), who contributed to the implementation of 785 volunteer opportunities “closely linked to the municipal and housing fields in order to achieve the objectives of the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing, which are represented in improving the quality of life and humanizing cities, in addition to enhancing the objectives of Sustainable development by activating partnerships with various sectors,” with a total of 363,452 “volunteer hours.”
