Within the comprehensive follow-up programs for establishments and outlets whose activities are related to public health, coinciding with the approaching month of Ramadan, the efforts of Al-Ahsa Municipality, represented by the Municipal Control Unit, continue to intensify oversight tours, to follow up on compliance with the application of health, municipal and food safety requirements.
During the past week, the tours extended to include 1,920 establishments, as a result of which quantities of food and beverages were confiscated and destroyed for not conforming to standard specifications.
The municipality stressed that the monitoring follow-up rounds during the current period are focused on meat and food outlets, as they are witnessing a heavy demand from consumers. The secretariat noted that the follow-up and health control programs on stores whose activities are related to public health come from an emphasis on the food safety of the food provided and what is displayed in them. For human consumption and the tools used to provide the service to those who intend it, and the extent to which the health and regulatory requirements of its employees are applied and that they are free from communicable diseases, in light of the application of the list of ministerial sanctions against violators of municipal rules and regulations.
It is noteworthy that the Municipal Control Unit in the Municipality recently held educational workshops aimed at raising the rates of compliance and implementation of establishment and commercial owners with municipal, health and technical requirements.
