Al-Ahsa Municipality confirmed that campaigns to monitor the compliance of vacant landowners by issuing a fencing license through the “Baladi” platform, in accordance with the models, standards and controls approved by the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, will begin tomorrow, Wednesday, the first of March 2023. The official spokesman for the secretariat, Khalid bin Muhammad Boushal, explained that this comes within the second phase of the initiative to fence vacant lands on central and arterial roads in cities, which was launched by the Ministry and aims to control vacant lands located on the main axes, unify their appearance with the surrounding buildings, reduce the accumulation of waste inside them, protect them from encroachments, and clarify Land ownership limits, and contributing effectively to the development process of cities and humanizing them by addressing visual distortion, improving the urban landscape, preserving pedestrian rights, and raising the quality of life, explaining that the fine for non-compliance with issuing a license to fence open space is estimated at (80 riyals per square meter). The targeted axes for fencing vacant lands in Al-Ahsa metropolis include 21 roads (Dhahran Road, Al-Oyoun-Uqair Road, Medina Road, King Abdulaziz Road, Jaafar Al-Tayyar Road, Prince Saud bin Jalawi Street, Prince Talal bin Abdulaziz Street, Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Street, Ain Najm Street, Prince Faisal bin Fahd Road, Prince Miteb bin Abdulaziz Road, Arabian Gulf Road, Riyadh Road, Al Uqair Road, King Saud bin Abdulaziz Road, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Road, King Road Abdullah Ring Road, King Fahd bin Abdulaziz Road, King Faisal Road, Makkah Al-Mukarramah Road, Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Road).
