The Mayor of Al-Ahsa, Essam bin Abdul Latif Al-Mulla, inaugurated the Municipality’s participation in (Environment Week 2024), coinciding with the Kingdom’s celebration of this week under the slogan “Know your environment?” Al-Ahsa Municipality participates in activating the week by setting up introductory and awareness-raising corners in the historic Qaisariya Market and Al-Othaim Complex, with the aim of spreading community environmental awareness and promoting environmental sustainability, in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. “Environment Week” comes in support of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to raise the level of environmental awareness among all different segments of society and motivate them to commit to exemplary behaviors towards the environment, in addition to spreading knowledge of the importance of environmental issues and developing a sense of responsibility in society. The Kingdom is among the countries that place environment and development at the top of its priorities, as it has comprehensive strategic plans aimed at achieving a balance between economic growth and environmental protection. The Kingdom has taken strenuous steps to build a more sustainable environmental future since the launch of Vision 2030 in 2016 AD, by adopting a strategy It also adopted a number of pioneering national initiatives to enhance environmental conservation, most notably the Green Saudi Arabia and Green Middle East initiatives. It is noteworthy that Environment Week is considered a national event that was approved by a decision of the Council of Ministers, aiming to spread community environmental awareness, achieve environmental sustainability, preserve natural resources, and reduce pollution of all kinds.
