81% completion rate of the project (Hofuf Historical Center Corridor)

Al-Ahsa Municipality has completed 81% of its project to develop the historic central axis of Hofuf on the inner ring road, with a length of 1.5 kilometers, and it is expected to be completed by the end of the third quarter of this year 2023. The secretariat stated that the inner ring road project is a continuation of the project to develop the historic center of Al-Hofuf, and consists of constructing a ring road surrounding the historical area, starting from Ibrahim Palace in the north until Riyadh Road in the south, with a length of 6 kilometers, and containing 4 lanes in each direction, and vehicle parking on both sides of the road. And pedestrian walkways, and it contributes to finding solutions for the flow of traffic in old historical areas because it is connected to several roads that facilitate movement from the historical area and from it to the neighboring suburbs and neighborhoods. The municipality explained that the project includes implementing (asphalting works, constructing sidewalks that comply with city humanization standards, lighting and landscaping), in addition to applying international standards for traffic safety on the road. The secretariat pointed out that it has made it a priority to find strategic studies and plans to implement its development and service projects, including those studies related to the vital road routes within Al-Ahsa and on its sprawling outskirts to the north, south, east and west, with the aim of contributing to the flow of traffic on the vital roads.
