As an extension of the implementation of the slum removal campaign, Al-Ahsa Municipality, in cooperation with the governorate police, removed 587 barns, informal camps, hangars and boxes during the past 4 months. The Secretariat indicated that the campaign comes to achieve the objectives of the Ministry of Municipal, Rural Affairs and Housing in the Quality of Life Program, and to enhance the elements of (addressing visual distortion and improving the urban landscape, raising compliance rates and licenses, preserving the environment and public rights). The municipality noted that the campaign is being carried out according to a scheduled implementation plan and targets about 265 designated sites within the cities of Al-Ahsa and its dependencies, stressing the importance of adhering to the regulations and instructions in order to avoid the application of the municipal penalties list according to the schedule of violations issued by the ministerial decision.
