The King Abdullah City of Dates in Al-Ahsa continues to receive tons of dates as part of the 2023 date auction, which was launched at the beginning of this September, in light of an integrated partnership between the relevant government sectors headed by Al-Ahsa Governorate and the membership of (Al-Ahsa Municipality, King Faisal University, Al-Ahsa Chamber, General Organization for Irrigation, Office of the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Ministry of Commerce Branch, Al-Ahsa Police, National Center for Palms and Dates, Food and Drug General Authority, Al-Ahsa Health Cluster), which has completed its preparations to organize the auction according to established mechanisms through which vehicles are registered and entered into the auction yard, and packaging in cardboard containers conforming to standards is confirmed. Environmental health, in addition to selecting random samples to be examined in the quality laboratory by an initial committee specialized in examining dates and determining their level. Al-Ahsa Municipality confirmed that those organizing the auction in its current 2023 season seek to enhance the factors that attract the purchasing power of the auction, and encourage the date production and processing sector to play its role in exchanging experiences and strengthening ties between farmers and date producers and manufacturers. It is noteworthy that the auction times during the weekdays were divided into two periods, starting at 6 am on the days (Sunday - Wednesday), and from 4 pm on the days (Thursday - Friday - Saturday).
