About the project:
It is one of the projects carried out by the Al-Ahsa Municipality represented by the General Administration for Investment Development in partnership with the private sector (National Parking Company). The project provides for no less than 1,500 paid parking spaces in the central Hofuf area.
The scope of the project’s work includes the rehabilitation of sidewalks, the construction of car parks, the installation of directional signs, the installation of parking payment devices, and the regulation of vehicle movement and pedestrian paths in proportion to the needs of the region. The project is based on renting the parking spaces of the Municipality.
The aim of the project:
If city centers are left without organizing their parking, they will suffer from traffic jams, wrong parking behaviors, and abandoned cars. Hence, organizing parking is necessary for:
• Providing more space for pedestrians and shoppers to ensure ease of movement and movement.
• Organizing parking and sidewalks to achieve traffic flow and quickly meet the needs of emergency vehicles, ambulances and civil defense mechanisms.
• Rehabilitation of sidewalks so that they are safe for pedestrians in general and for people with special needs in particular.
Providing more parking spaces, regulating the process of using parking spaces, and enabling the largest possible number of people to benefit from one parking lot.
• Preventing wrong standing and immobilizing movement.
• Preventing standing on sidewalks.
• Regulating traffic density, traffic congestion decreases, traffic improves, and car owners abide by the rules and regulations for parking.
