The sixth forum for general managers of hygiene in the municipalities of the Kingdom, which was hosted by the Al-Ahsa Municipality, and concluded its work today, Wednesday, January 24, with the participation of Saudi Aramco, the Royal Commission in Jubail, King Faisal University, and the National Center for Waste Management (MOAN), witnessed a review of experiences, expertise, future plans, and investment opportunities related to public hygiene, and projects. Sorting and recycling waste and construction waste.
Al-Ahsa Municipality reviewed the most prominent achievements and experiences that contributed to raising the level of performance of cleaning services and projects (recycling investment waste, environmental landfill). On the ground, the municipality carried out a field tour for participants to the engineering environmental landfill to inform them of the mechanism of integrated work in it and its role in the environmentally safe disposal of all types. Waste, as well as the stations it includes (the station for sorting and recycling waste and converting it to useful products, the station for recycling and utilizing construction waste, and the station for generating electrical power from gas resulting from the waste buried in the landfill, which has already been used by the municipality in operating lighting for internal roads. With the engineering environmental landfill as a first stage), in addition to reviewing the municipality’s work related to the rehabilitation of the old landfill on an area of 1.3 million square metres, and the “Cleanliness is Culture” initiative launched by the municipality with the participation of 350 volunteers with the aim of raising awareness and contributing to environmental awareness in society.
While the Riyadh Municipality presented a visual presentation of the project to close and rehabilitate waste landfills according to the specifications followed in this aspect, while Masarat Al-Support Company participated by providing models of artificial intelligence applications for cleaning works and services, which contribute to raising the level of performance and achieving a better quality of cleaning service.
In addition, dialogue sessions were held with the participation of (Saudi Aramco, the Royal Commission in Jubail, King Faisal University, the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs and Housing, Qassim Municipality, the Holy Capital Municipality, the Medina Municipality, and the National Waste Management Center “MAWAN”).
It is noteworthy that the forum seeks to encourage the private sector and investors to work in the various fields of waste management, create a broad economic market in this field, achieve environmental and financial sustainability, preserve public property and facilities, and address the manifestations of visual distortion in a way that contributes to the cleaning system reaching high levels of quality. Improving the services provided in cities to beneficiaries, achieving the goals of quality of life, one of the programs of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
