While Al-Ahsa Municipality has completed 40% of the project to develop and raise efficiency (the intersection of King Abdullah Ring Road with Prince Nayef bin Abdulaziz Road), the municipality has begun implementing the second phase of the project and it is expected to be completed during the third quarter of the current year 2023.
The project aims to contribute to the smooth flow of vehicle movement in the directions of the intersection (north, south, east and west), so that traffic movement will be free without stopping for those coming from King Abdullah Road, as the square will be eliminated and exits will be created to facilitate traffic at the intersection.
The Municipality’s Undersecretary for Projects, M. Hisham Al-Awfi said that the new design of the intersection depends on providing forward movement from north to south on King Abdullah Road without stopping, while forward movement on Prince Nayef Road from the west will be closed and diverted to the south towards King Abdullah Road, with the addition of turning movements towards the north and south on King Abdullah Road. With the reversal of traffic on Prince Naif Road towards the east, with the aim of continuing traffic movement and reducing traffic signal phases.

Al-Awfi... while the secretariat’s work continues to implement its project to develop and raise the efficiency of the intersection of King Abdullah Ring Road with King Fahd Road, with the aim of contributing to the smooth flow of vehicle movement and eliminating traffic congestion at the intersection, pointing out that the two intersection development projects include (asphalt works, construction of sidewalks, means Traffic safety, infrastructure development, lighting, agriculture and afforestation), while their implementation comes as an extension of the Municipality’s ongoing endeavors with the aim of enabling the quality of life in urban communities by enhancing municipal services, especially urban roads, which is one of the strategic goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.
