Al-Ahsa Municipality is preparing, and within the upcoming plans for service projects, to start implementing 4 projects to drain rainwater and ward off the dangers of floods, which include (the rainwater drainage network in the city of Al-Omran, the establishment and implementation of a rainwater drainage network in the northern neighborhoods of the city of Al-Ayoun, a project to maintain and raise the efficiency of the main lines to drain rainwater and ward off Flood dangers to the “D1” bank, a project to maintain and raise the efficiency of the main lines for rainwater drainage and ward off the dangers of floods to the “D2” bank), in addition to supervising these projects according to the plans and implementation studies for their completion.
The total cost of the five projects is estimated at 300 million riyals, while preparations are being made to hand over the sites to contractors to begin implementing them during the coming period.
In addition, the municipality’s agent for projects, M. Hisham Al-Awfi announced that the Municipality completed a project to drain rainwater and ward off the dangers of floods in the Southern Salmaniyah neighborhood in Hofuf, which serves the neighborhoods (Southern Sulaymaniyah, Al-Rabwah, part of the Northern Salmaniyah neighborhood) on a slope network with a length of 60,000 linear meters serving more than 8 million square meters of residential neighborhoods. The project is linked to a pumping station consisting of 6 pumps with a capacity of 3,600 liters per second, each pump through two pipes with a diameter of 1,600 mm and a length of 2.5 km, passing through a horizontal hole under the railway lines and the Riyadh Road, and draining into a lake for drying water with a capacity of 250,000,000 liters, with the implementation of most of the roads surrounding the lake along Up to 12 km.
